The name of your podcast suggests you believe I should "stop parenting & start coaching" my teen athlete or performer. What does that actually mean?

The shorter answer? It means that we become more curious rather than coercive. We "coach" rather than consult. Teens are no longer young children who we simply tell what to do. Thriving parent/teen relationships are built upon mutual respect and a high level of communication. This is not easy to achieve but is totally possible and worth the effort. It takes time and requires a unique set of skills. At create.transform.BECOME we coach you as parents to become the "coaches" that will help your teen soar in competition and life.

The longer answer? Check out Episode 1 of The Stop Parenting & Start Coaching Podcast! There you will get the 19 minute answer!! Enjoy!

Are you coaching parents or teen athletes/performers?

Well, uh kind of both. While the focus of create.transform.BECOME is on coaching parents to empower their teen athlete or performer, we also create custom "family" coaching packages where we work with both parents and teens. If you are interested in learning more about those possibilities for you and your family, please navigate your way to our Apply for Coaching page.

Being a parent of a teen athlete is overwhelming, where should I focus my attention? Where do I begin?

We strongly believe that great parenting begins with creating meaningful, powerful connection through skilled communication. We are passionate about helping parents develop communication skills that help them bridge the parent/teen gap. We have created specific thinking tools that help parents to do just that!

The QOC Tool (Question Only Conversation) and The Communication Ring will help you to advance your parent/coach communication skills. They are 100% complimentary and available to you right now. Click here to try one or both today--this is a great place to start--you will not regret that decision!

Why do you require application for a "complimentary private consultation?"

Great question! The short application helps both of us determine if this session will be a valuable use of our time. It gives us a quick snapshot of your current parent/teen situation, ensuring that we can tailor the session to your needs. It also helps us see if you're open to the coaching process and if investing in coaching could be a good fit for you. This way, we make sure the session is productive, insightful, and truly beneficial. Plus, let’s be honest—if you’re not at least a little open-minded about coaching, it probably wouldn’t be a great experience for either of us! So, if you're ready to gain clarity, challenge your thinking, and explore new possibilities, let’s explore the possibilities!
